これらをひっくるめた正式名称はVaM内には登場しないが、公式Wikiでは「joint Controls」と表記されている。本来ならこの通り採用すべきかもしれないが当サイトでは以下の理由でjointControlと命名している。
- C#の命令規則（最初の単語を小文字、2つ目以降の単語は大文字）を適用するのであれば空白が入っているのは違和感が強い。
- 複数形でなく単数形のほうが他の用語と一貫性がある（PersonはAtomの1つであり、Atomsの1つではない。headControlはjointControlの1つであり、jointControlsの１つではない。）
